CHEZA dispatched an expert for a technology transferring project, the “Urban Transport Improvement Project in Kigali City, Rwanda” which was ordered by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
In the project, our expert provided know-how on promoting TOD (Transit-Oriented Development), the introduction of Integrated GIS (GIS for smooth information sharing among related organizations), and practical guidance on GIS to stakeholders such as the Rwandan Government and related organizations.
In Rwanda, which aims to become an ICT-oriented country, interest in smart technologies such as GIS is high. And under the guidance of our experts, government officials attended to the training very seriously. The participants shared their awareness of the urban challenges with each other and listened to lectures that touched on why this technology is needed now. The participants were very enthusiastic about learning new technologies, due to the abundance of young human resources and their serious attitudes, their level of understanding was wonderful.
We will continue to support organizations and citizens through such opportunities including ongoing projects.
